PaperFood: photographing the actual food
For my packaging class, we had assignment to create food out of paper.
Since the deviled egg has always amused and interested me, I chose the ever so ambitious project.

UPDATED resume
After many hours of InDesign, voila. Get me employed.
This most recently updated resume is 42x60 picas. I placed a beige background beneath to give an idea of what an earth tone paper might look like when it comes time to print. Many would agree - it has come a lonnnnnnng way.

the Mirror Face
I don't care what anyone says - every woman has one. It's that "I'm sexy" distortion we do to our facial features when primping in front of a mirror. It could be a simple pouting of the lips to a subtle squinting of the eyes to the rare scrunching of the face. I have seen good mirror faces and I have seen ugly mirror faces but I am at the point where I have seen too many mirror faces. While I'm driving - women looking in their rear-view mirrors, making a mirror face. When I'm walking to campus and pass any building that emits a reflection - there is a chick doing what? Making a mirror face. Drives me up a wall. I will do a shout out (and by shout out, I mean a sluggish murmur) to the women who have a subtle, almost nonexistent mirror face: I thank you for ability to look in the mirror and feel no obligation to be a face-contortionist. The mirror-facers envy you.

iAstrology
Who calls the shots on adding and subtracting astrological signs? Scientists? Astronomers? Politicians? Honestly, this new Ophiuchus that they are politely shoving in between Scorpio and Sagittarius is sort of unwelcome. I'll be honest though - I'm salty because I loved being an Aquarius. I felt like it really worked for me and identified with me and I am not quite ready to pack it up and move into Capricorn. My birthday is coming up and it's not gonna feel right if I'm not bearing water.
Logos I looked extremely hard for:
The assignment was to capture logos. Any logo. All logos. So I photographed things around my house... Everything has a logo, so it was difficult to pick and choose the 'good' ones. I wanted to take interesting photos too, so I set up a scene for most. My favorite one is the Odell Brewery logo. So nice and organic in the shape of a leaf.

The Division of General Studies at Saint Cloud State had asked me to create a poster, postcard/flyer, and the actual ticket for the event, so that is what you see below. Very exciting. I has been quite a process. Perhaps a 26 hour process...
Disney VHS covers - Revised
Aladin, Cinderella and Snow White would sum up the kinds of things I was watching when I was young. Today's reality television and how it is viewed by most of the population inspired me to recreate what I think kids today might be watching... and how that's not a good thing.

cat box
Why is it that the only place for my cat's liter box is outside by bedroom door to the left? A location where there is no airflow, no direct sunlight, and right in plain view. I wish there was a better place to put it. Unfortunately, the multidimensional house I live in only offers rooms no bigger than 8x8 and therefore every nook and cranny has already been occupied. Ode to the liter box just around the corner. You fill up far too quickly and omit smells far too painfully violent. Thank you TidyCat liter brand for applying a clean-laundry-esque aroma to your liter. You have made my living conditions tolerable.
